Wine Tastings With Friends: Pinot Noir Rosé

Posted By Don Sumner on Oct 22, 2014 |

Here’s the second post in our Wine Tastings With Friends series. (Click here for the other tasting parties of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir)

Indoor activities start to trump outdoor events as the weather cools. One way to create a lively event with friends is to host a wine tasting party.

To review: First, choose a varietal. Next, choose foods that will work well with the wine. Then, send invitations out with varietal and food ideas for your guests to bring, and prepare for fun, because creating wine and food pairings with friends are a great way to learn more while socializing.

Rosés pair well with rich, cheesy dishes. Food & Wine says, “Some cheeses go better with white wine, some with red; yet almost all pair well with a dry rosé, which has the acidity of white wine and the fruit character of red.”

In our example—a Rosé tasting—each guest will bring a brown-bagged Rosé (Sumner Vineyards Pinot Noir Rosé, could be one!) and a dish featuring cheese. They can go to your eVite page to RSVP and get ideas for recipes.

To create a warming welcome, make sure your glasses are sparkling, the sideboard is loaded with plates, napkins, and flatware, and that there’s a fire or candles lit.

Enjoy!
